The prospect of giving birth in hospitals filled with coronavirus patients has driven up the demand for midwives and home births. "[My midwife] kept telling me, 'You're made for this. You can do this.' I didn’t think I was gonna make it."
And that leaves us vulnerable to another outbreak like coronavirus, which may have jumped from bats to humans through an intermediary animal. An estimated 60 percent of known human diseases originated in animals.
