Coming to Life: How Genes Drive Development

On 20 Oct 1942, Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard was born, who shared the 1995 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine. The paper in Nature “Mutations Affecting Segment Number and Polarity in Drosophila” (1980), which she co-authored with Eric Wieschaus, revolutionised the field of developmental genetics.
